HATE IN AMERICA
I often wonder if the majority of America went to sleep one night and awoke the next morning with a new found animosity for others. Arguably, our country has never been more divided than it is today. Literally tens of thousands of people are uncharacteristically violently acting out against others who don’t share their same beliefs. Political beliefs appear to be at the core of our current fighting amongst each other
A Persons Political Beliefs Does Not Make Someone a Good or Bad Person
The fact is that God has made us all unique. We were all born as blank slates. What we believe and how we feel about certain things, are often a direct result of our life experiences. Our lives would be very boring if the people we have encountered in our day to day lives, thought and felt exactly the same way as you may think or feel.
God Is Not Partial
In reading the book of Acts, chapter 10, verse 34, our almighty father tells us that, “for certain, God is not partial.” God’s son Jesus, actions proved without a doubt that God is not partial to anyone’s race, (John 4:1-44) economic stature (Romans 2:11) and or political beliefs. (Romans 13:1) Jesus fervently led by example and taught us all, “thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 26:39) We are all born with the capacity and overwhelming desire to love and be loved by others.
Who Do You Serve?
Through God’s word, the Bible, God tells us that, “ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” (1John 4:7-12)
Additionally, the Bible tells us that, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.” (Ephesians 2:1, 2) God encourages us to “stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” Certainly, Satan is evil and thrives on causing hatred and turmoil.
I encourage everyone when you become angered over your brother or sisters opinions, race, religion and or political beliefs, to follow the example Jesus set for all of us. Let us strive to serve God by loving one another and to resist Satan at every turn.
